A couple months later, Ben encouraged me to pursue my longtime passion for baking by going to culinary school. In July 2011, I began a program in Pastry Arts at L'Academie de Cuisine and we made the move from Florida to DC. I loved the program and after six months, started on my externship at a restaurant. Although the work was stressful and demanding, I was so excited to be in a professional kitchen and truly enjoyed it.
At the end of May 2012, our lives would change once again. I found out I was pregnant! Suddenly my dream of working in pastry and my dream of being a mom collided. This blog is about trying to balance those two loves - mostly motherhood, with a touch of cooking thrown in.
